Ron was born in Northern Louisiana, raised in Southern Louisiana and now teaches at the University of Louisiana in Southwest Louisiana. He graduated from Destrehan High School, received an undergraduate degree in Management from Loyola University (City College – 1978) and MBA (1990) and Ph.D. (1996) from the University of New Orleans.

In 1982, Ron was involved in an automobile accident. As a result of this accident he is a T-7 paraplegic. This accident was the impetus that drove him in the pursuit of higher education. His life since his accident has been truly blessed and he has been able to achieve personal and professional goals beyond even his wildly dreams. Other than missing his true passion of golf, his life after the accident has been one filled with family, friends, and a never ending world of endless opportunities. Without the accident he may have never found and pursued the wonderful world of higher education and the richly rewarding life he now lives.
